JIMAZ Ltd. was founded in 1991, by three Czech partners. Since its foundation it has been constantly growing both in terms of income/profit and the scale of operations. The privately held company employs now over twenty-five people and operates both in hardware and software markets. JIMAZ belongs to the largest retail oriented vendors in the country, while running a single retail outlet only (backed up by a storage and workshop facility in the vicinity of Prague). Up to that JIMAZ runs a renowned mail order service. It is well recognized because of its customer service orientation, inexpensive computer repairs, upgrades and refurbishings, network installations, and various add-on activities like shareware/game distribution. The hardware oriented part of the company focuses on reselling both brand new and second hand computers, peripherals, and accesories, supplying both large corporate customers and individual users. While the sales of new, self-assembled no-name computers make up almost 50% of the company turnover, the company is best-known for selling second-hand computer goods, refurbishing computers, and servicing just about every kind of PC-computer hardware, customers bring in. The other non computer oriented part of the bussiness JIMAZ runs is repairing and selling second-hand KONICA copiers with well over 500 copiers installed at the customers and many more copiers repaired-refurbished for KONICA Deutschland. Regarding the second-hand goods sales, both computers and copiers no other company comes close to the number of used computers, copiers and peripherals JIMAZ sells in Czech republic. Large part of the serviced equipment is made up of computer monitors. Employing several very skilled professionals, JIMAZ is able to service almost any kind of a computer monitor even without the proprietary documentation. Since its foundation, JIMAZ has repaired well over 20 000 monitors of all name/noname brands (including at least 500 pcs of Tatung monitors). One of the most notable features of the JIMAZ company is its technical orientation. The company is employing very few white collars and builds its reputation solely on technical professionals. Customers benefit from talking directly to a skilled technician, that is always capable of suggesting a problem solution. JIMAZ's software oriented activities consist of distributing shareware and registered shareware, sublicensing and publishing various multimedia/entertainment titles, and distributing a broad range of CD-ROM software.
